Does dollop wash out?
Yes dollop washes out with shampoo. You can also brush and comb your hair easily after applying dollop. Rather than coating your hair with a tacky layer, dollop sinks in to nourish your hair. Genius.

Can you please elaborate on the meaning of the word "pomade"? Thanks
The French word 'pomme' means 'apple'. Although I have not found evidence of the connection between pomades and apples, apparently some original hair styling unguents contained apple mash, and this has been used to explain the word's etymology.
Traditionally, a pomade was a fragrant preparation for the hair, made from all-natural waxes and oils. These were usually plant derived, but animal fats were sometimes used (euw!). Beeswax is also a staple component of many pomades.
'Pomade' is used these days for all kinds of waxy or greasy hair styling products, even those containing synthetic ingredients.
dollop is a 'pomade' because it is an aromatic wax and oil based hair styling product, made in the traditional 'all-natural' sense.
